Nick Whitworth, Partner
Nick joined his father at Maddocks Clarke in 1998, becoming a partner in 2005. Nick deals with all aspects of commercial and residential property matters including sale and purchase, leases, tenancy agreements, mortgages, commercial finance and landlord and tenant disputes.
Nick has built up a considerable number of residential development and commercial clients and is highly regarded in the property field.
Vivienne Norman, Partner
Vivienne joined Brian at Maddocks Clarke in 2003, becoming a partner in 2005. Vivienne has an immense experience in all aspects and types of personal injury litigation, including public liability claims, employer’s liability claims, road traffic accidents, infant settlements and criminal injuries compensation claims in both fast and multi-track cases.
Vivienne is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers and has been on the Law Society Panel of personal injury expert solicitors since 1982.
Margaret Patterson, Consultant
Margaret started her own general practice in 1981, but her success and reputation in matrimonial areas led her over time to specialise solely in this area. For the past 30 years, Margaret has developed a solid reputation locally and nationally, dealing with high worth financial issues and matters relating to children.
Margaret is a member of Resolution, committed to the constructive resolution of family disputes.
Bertie, Lead witness

We value your business and do not wish you to have any reason to be unhappy with us. We are confident in providing a high-quality service. It is therefore important that you raise any concerns you may have with us immediately so that we can address them and learn lessons. If you are dissatisfied with the service received or would like advice reviewed, or if you wish to discuss or challenge a bill received, please write to the member of staff who is dealing with your matter. If that is not appropriate, or if you are still dissatisfied, please contact Nicholas Whitworth, who deals with complaints, by writing to him at Fairbank House, 27 Ashley Road, Altrincham, WA14 2DP. Please set out as clearly as you can the nature of your complaint or concern and how it has arisen. If the complaint relates to Nicholas Whitworth then, if you require, he can refer it to someone in the firm who has not been involved in your complaint to review it.
We will send you a written or electronic acknowledgment of a complaint within five business days of receipt, identifying the person who will be handling the complaint. If we need further information, we will ask you to confirm or explain any details which are unclear.
Within 10 working days of receiving your complaint (or the further details requested), we will write to you with our view of your complaint, and how to resolve it.
If you are still not satisfied, you can write to us again. We will review our decision. This will happen in one of the following ways:
The person who wrote to you will review their own decision within 5 working days
We will arrange for someone in the firm who has not been involved in your complaint to review it. They will do this within 10 working days.
We will ask our risk and compliance consultants, Weightmans LLP, to review your complaint. We will let you know how long this process is likely to take.
We will then write to you confirming our final position on your complaint and explain our reasons, within 3 working days of the end of the review and give you the name and address of the Legal Ombudsman. This communication will happen no more than eight weeks from receipt of your complaint. If you are still not satisfied, you can contact them about your complaint. Normally you will have 6 months to do that or within 6 years of the act or omission about which you are complaining occurring (or if outside of this period, within 3 years of when you should reasonably have been aware of it).
